Any one who is conscious about appearance will love to have a clear skin. Clear skin is indicative of healthy state of body and mind. On the opposite side, skin with rashes is indicative of trouble. Rashes are caused by chafing of skin or presence of bacteria which causes infection. A sudden change in color of skin together with the onset of itchy sensation is indicative of a rash. Medical term used to denote a rash is Dermatitis. Skin Rashes can also appear due to allergic reaction to heat and are known as Heat Rashes.

There is a wide variety of reasons that cause rashes. A few of them are listed below:

* Allergic reaction
* Infection caused by bacterium
* Stress
* Unclean skin surfaces leading to bacterial infection
* Mosquito or spider bite
* Skin exposure to sun
* Chafing of skin due to unsuitable fabric
* Side effects of any medicine

Rash Remedies

The most common treatment of skin rash is with Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera extract has anti inflammatory, anti bacterial, and anti fungal properties that help in tackling number of skin problems including rashes. Application of Aloe Vera gel on the affected area can give an immediate soothing effect. Application of gel 2-3 times a day can bring relief.
The easy part about treating a skin rash is that you can use a home remedy for skin rash. Baking Soda can bring instant relief in case of a heat rash.
Wild Pansy flower produces chemicals that can bring relief from all types of skin rashes.
Witch Hazel has anti oxidant properties that allow it to fight Heat Rash or sun burn rash.
Best treatment for a diaper rash is to leave the effected area open.

Home Remedies For Skin Rashes And Itchiness

Rather than going for expensive treatments, you can use a home remedy for skin rash: The safest bet is to avoid the foods, plants, animals, drugs, dust, or other substances that trigger a reaction leading to skin rashes.

Smoking worsens allergic reactions and causes itchy rashes. Being allergic to MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) should be a cause to quit smoking.

Vitamin C available in citrus fruits effectively fights allergic reactions that may cause rashes.

Inculcate a habit of washing all fresh fruits and vegetables in warm water before cooking or consumption.

Rub an ice cube gently over the affected area. This cools the skin, reduces inflammation and soothes the itch immediately.

Aloe Vera gel application over affected area brings instant relief.

Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily.

In hot seasons, avoid getting dehydrated. Having lime water in summers is a good idea as this will supplement the vitamin C content of the body, lost due to perspiration and will prevent the outburst of prickly heat.

Papaya is an easily available fruit. If you can not find Aloe Vera gel, mash a papaya and rub the pulp over effected area. This brings relief.

Research has shown that diet also plays an important part in improving your immune system. If you have a healthy immune system, body will be better prepared to fight the allergies. Thus, having a balanced diet of as many natural ingredients as possible boosts the immune system and prepares you internally to fight allergies.

Processed foods contain lots of preservatives that may cause allergic reaction in you leading to itchy rashes. Before buying a preserved food, check that it contains only permitted additives and preservatives.

Allergic conditions are bound to bring in rashes that are itchy in nature. The most common allergens are grass and tree pollens, mold spores, dust mites, and animal dander. Once you discover what agents you are allergic to, avoid them at all costs.

Home remedies can bring about lot of relief from itchy rashes. Same can not be said about over the counter creams and gels that claim to cure rashes. At best, these creams fight the infection at a superficial level.

The sooner you find out if you are allergic, the better it is. For example, everybody is exposed to dust. If you are allergic to it, take precautions to avoid dust.

Rashes caused due to chafing of skin can be cured by sprinkling of medicated powders or application of ice cubes.
