Homemade Teeth Whitening Remedies

Every individual dreams of having pearly white teeth but they tend to become discolored in a course of time due to varied reasons. Intake of excess coffee, alcohol, betel nut, wine etc cause yellowing of the teeth. This problem can be solved with the help of few effective homemade teeth whitening remedies.

You need not spend money on the expensive dental treatments to whiten your teeth. An easy way to whiten your teeth is to follow few homemade teeth whitening remedies that are effective in removing the discoloration from the teeth. All you need are few ingredients from the kitchen for these homemade teeth whitening remedies. Few of these effective remedies are mentioned below.

  • A mixture of lemon juice and salt can help in removing the yellow stains from the teeth. Excess calcium that causes the yellow stains is removed by the lemon juice.
  • A paste of bicarbonate of soda and water when rubbed on the teeth, effectively removes the stains.
  • Baking soda, the most common ingredient found in every kitchen can be used to whiten the teeth.
  • Pearly white teeth can be obtained by rubbing the inner side of the orange peel on the stained teeth.
  • A mixture of dried and powdered Bay plant leaves and dried orange peel when rubbed on the teeth will help in getting rid of those ugly stains.
  • A simple homemade tooth powder can be prepared at home. This can be done by mixing 2 tablespoons of baking soda with one teaspoon of vodka. Also add half teaspoon of salt and some drops of oregano oil to the mixture. This mixture acts as a perfect stain remover for your teeth. But people with tooth bonding must avoid this mixture as oregano oil may result in its staining.
  • Another simple homemade tooth powder is a mixture 3 teaspoon of baking soda with 1 teaspoon of salt. It is easy to prepare and is also effective in removing the yellowish stains from the teeth.
  • A paste of one teaspoon of baking soda and some drops of hydrogen peroxide when used twice a week will help in getting rid of these yellow stains.
  • Teeth can be cleaned with the help of a simple homemade liquid. Add one teaspoon of aloe vera gel, four teaspoons of vegetable glycerin and1/4 cup of plain soda drink to the boiling water. Later add 10 drops of peppermint to the above cooled mixture. Peppermint results in a freshen breath. Shake well and use this mixture to clean the teeth regularly.
  • Simple homemade toothpaste can be prepared by adding vegetable glycerin, 10 drops of peppermint for fresh breath and ¼ teaspoon of salt to 5 teaspoons of baking soda. Peppermint results in a freshen breath. Use regularly for effective results.
  • A mixture of 3 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of table salt acts as a perfect tooth whitener.
  • A mixture of 3 parts of baking soda, 3 parts of finely ground prickly ash bark, 3 parts of calcium-magnesium- vitamin c, 1 part of Echinacea powder and sea salt and half part of goldenseal powder would make a good homemade tooth powder.
  • Brushing the teeth with sage leaf regularly removes the stains effectively from the teeth.
  • Rubbing the teeth with salvia leaves regularly removes the stains effectively from the teeth.
  • Also rubbing the teeth with the green peel of the walnuts effectively removes the stains from the teeth. While using these peels, make sure that they do not come in contact with the lips. This may cause black and red coloration of the lips.
  • Diet containing gooseberry (amla) and onions is good for teeth.
  • Raw spinach when chewed regularly helps in the removal of the yellow stains from the teeth.
  • Prior brushing, try rubbing a raw strawberry on the teeth. This helps in the easy removal of plaque and stains while brushing.
  • Vinegar can also be used for brushing. All you have to do is to brush with a toothbrush dipped in vinegar. Make sure to use only less amounts of vinegar as excess vinegar may irritate the gums.
