Regular washing and conditioning of hair is must to keep it in a good condition. Beautiful hair will always add up to your looks. But the chemicals present in the commercial shampoos can damage the hair. Hair becomes dry and brittle. This problem can be solved by using the homemade shampoos. Homemade shampoos are completely made up of natural products and contain no chemicals and preservatives.
You also need not spend money on the expensive commercial shampoos. Homemade shampoos are completely safe and eco friendly.
Few of the effective recipes of homemade shampoos are mentioned below.
Sandalwood shampoo:
- Take two hundred grams of shikakai in a bowl.
- Add hundred grams of khus, hundred grams of char, hundred grams of charilla, hundred grams of amla and two hundred grams of reetha to it.
- Soak all these in two and half liters of water overnight.
- Next morning, reduce the quantity of this mixture to half by boiling.
- Separate the liquid and add half teaspoon of sodium benzoate and eight teaspoons of sandalwood oil.
- Mix well.
- Your homemade Sandalwood shampoo is ready.
Lime shampoo:
- Take about hundred grams of amla in a bowl.
- Add two hundred grams of shikakai, hundred grams of char, hundred grams of khus, two hundred grams of reetha and hundred grams of charilla to it.
- Soak all these in two and half liters of water overnight.
- Next morning, reduce the quantity of this mixture to half by boiling.
- Separate the liquid and add four teaspoons of lime juice, one and half teaspoons of sodium benzoate and eight teaspoons of glycerin to it.
- Mix well.
- Your homemade Lime shampoo is ready.
Methi-shikakai shampoo:
- Take about two fifty grams of Methi in a bowl.
- Add a handful of orange/ lemon peels and one kg of shikakai to it.
- Powder all of them together.
- Then, add half cup of water to the powdered ingredients and set it side for about two hours.
- Then apply this paste to the hair and rinse it off after 2 or 3 minutes.
Neem shampoo:
- Take one kilogram of gram flour and add one kg of shikakai powder to it.
- Also add two fifty grams of sandalwood powder and four to five cups of neem leaves powder to it.
- Mix all of them and store it in a bottle or container.
- Before using, add two tablespoons of this mixture to a cup of water and make a paste.
- Apply this paste to the hair and rinse it off after 2 or 3 minutes.
Lavender shampoo:
- Take hundred grams of amla in a bowl and add hundred grams of khus to it.
- Also add hundred grams of char, two hundred grams of reetha, two hundred grams of shikakai and hundred grams of charilla to it.
- Soak all these in two and half liters of water overnight.
- Next morning, reduce the quantity of this mixture to half by boiling.
- Separate the liquid and add half teaspoon of sodium benzoate and eight teaspoons of lavender oil.
- Mix well.
- Your homemade Lavender shampoo is ready.
Homemade Egg Shampoo:
- Beat an egg in a bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup of water or herbal tea to it.
- Also add 1 tablespoon of castile soap, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to it.
- You can also add a drop of your favorite essential oil to it.
- Now blend all the ingredients with the help of a blender to make a smooth paste.
- Your homemade egg shampoo is ready for use.
- Use only lukewarm water while shampooing.
Chamomile Shampoo :
- Boil 6 Chamomile Tea Bags in 1½ cup of pre-boiled water.
- Remove the tea bags after 20 minutes of boiling.
- Then, add four tablespoons of pure soap flakes and 1½ tablespoons Glycerin. Stir continuously to dissolve the soap flakes into the mixture.
- Blend all the ingredients to make a smooth paste.
- Pour this paste into a tightly sealed bottle after cooling down.
- Make sure to place it in a cool dark place.
