Skin loses its moisture when it is exposed to the harsh environmental factors. As a result, it becomes dry and rough. Dry skin also encourages early wrinkle formation. Hence, it is very important to retain the moisture on the skin.

This can be done with the help of homemade moisturizers. These moisturizers block the moisture on the skin and prevent it from drying up. They also make the skin the soft and supple. Moisturizers can be prepared at home with the help of the ingredients present in the kitchen. So, you need not spend any extra money on the expensive moisturizers that are available in the market. You can instead use these homemade moisturizers to moisturize your skin.

Few of the effective homemade moisturizers are mentioned below.

Wheat germ moisturizer:

  • Take 3 tablespoons of wheat germ oil in a bowl.
  • Add 3 tablespoons of honey to it.
  • Also add few drops of glycerin, few drops of rose water and few drops of witch hazel to the above mixture.
  • Mix well to form a cream.
  • Your homemade wheat germ moisturizer is ready.
  • You can store it in any container.

Protein Moisturizer:

  • Beat an egg yolk in a bowl.
  • Add a cup of milk to it.
  • Continue beating until a smooth paste is formed.
  • This mixture can be preserved at cool temperatures.
  • Apply regularly for best results.

Aloe Vera moisturizer:

  • Take a cup of fresh aloe vera gel. This can be directly obtained from the aloe vera leaves.
  • To this add a cup of mineral water.
  • Boil this mixture in a boiler.
  • Continue boiling until a smooth paste is formed.
  • Store this paste after cooling.
  • Apply regularly for best results

Almond based moisturizer:

  • A mixture of almond oil and distilled water acts as a great moisturizer for normal skin.
  • Simply add few drops of sweet almond oil to few drops of water.
  • Mix this mixture and apply on the face and the hands.
  • Repeat this regularly for better results.

Peaches & Cream Moisturizer:

  • Extract the juice from a fresh peach by sieving the mashed pulp.
  • Add equal quantities of fresh cream to it.
  • Mix well to form a smooth cream.
  • Refrigerate this cream for longer shelf life.
  • Apply regularly for good results.

Rich Rose moisturizing Cream :

  • Prepare a rose liquid by mashing few rose petals and few rose hips in a bowl.
  • Add warm water to this mashed mixture and let it stay overnight.
  • Next day separate the liquid from the mixture.
  • This liquid is the rose liquid.
  • Take equal quantities of beeswax and cocoa butter in a bowl.
  • Melt this mixture on a low flame. Keep stirring continuously.
  • Add few drops of almond oil to this mixture while still on flame.
  • Remove from the flame after the mixture melts completely.
  • Let it cool down partially and then add this mixture to the already prepared rose liquid.
  • Also add vitamin E and few drops of rose essential oil to this.
  • Blend this mixture with a blender.
  • Store it after it is cooled.
  • Apply regularly for good results

Goat Milk moisturizer:

  • Take some amount of borax in a bowl.
  • Add some milk to it.
  • Boil this mixture for some time.
  • In another container melt coconut oil and beeswax.
  • Now add this one to the previous mixture in a whisk.
  • Cool down this mixture.
  • After cooling down, add some amount of aloe vera to it.
  • Then give a final whisk.
  • Store after it gets cooled.

Strawberry moisturizing cream:

  • Mash a fresh strawberry in a bowl.
  • Add few drops of vitamin E oil to it.
  • Also add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil to it.
  • Blend all of them to form a paste.
  • Apply this paste to the face and the neck.
  • Let it stay for 10 minutes.
  • Then, rinse it off with water.

Banana and honey moisturizer:

  • Mash half banana in a bowl.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of sour cream to it.
  • Blend all of them to form a paste.
  • Apply this paste to the face and the neck.
  • Let it stay for 15 minutes.
  • Then, rinse it off with water.

The above homemade moisturizers are effective enough to moisturize your skin even in extremely dry conditions.
