Acne is one of the most common problems that are faced by the teenagers. Pimples or zits are formed on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders because of the clogging up of the hair follicles beneath the skin. Sometimes these pimples leave behind ugly scars on the skin. It is believed that acne is caused because of the changes in the hormones during the adolescence and pregnancy periods.
Acne must be treated with utmost care. Certain acne home remedies can cure acne without causing any damage to the skin. Teenagers need not spend money for the expensive acne treatments. These acne home remedies can be prepared at home using the common ingredients found in the kitchen.
Some of the effective homemade remedies for Acne are:
Using a tooth paste:
It is the simplest and easiest home remedy. It is also found to be very effective.
Apply a little amount of toothpaste on the effected area and leave it over night.
This reduces the swelling by the next morning.
Do not use a tooth gel.
Using Mint leaves:
This remedy is for the people who have dry skin. Acne can be effectively cured by using the mint juice.
Extract the juice from the mint leaves and apply it on the skin.
Leave it on the face for overnight.
Repeat this procedure every night.
Apart from curing the pimples it also prevents the skin from drying up.
Using lemon juice and rose water:
This remedy also helps in the removal of the scars and blemishes apart from curing the pimples.
Prepare a mixture containing lemon juice and rose water in equal amounts.
Apply this mixture on the face and leave it behind for 30 minutes.
Repeat this procedure for about 15-20 days.
Using garlic cloves :
Crush few garlic cloves and rub the paste on the face. Repeat this procedure at least twice a day.
Using fenugreek leaves :
This helps in the prevention of skin problems like acne, pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.
Take few fresh fenugreek leaves and crush them into fine paste.
Apply this paste on the face and leave it behind for 10-15 minutes
Use warm water to wash the face.
Using strawberry leaves :
This remedy is effective in reducing the swelling. Collect few fresh strawberry leaves and place them on the effected area for some time.
Using dried basil leaves:
This is effective on all kinds of skin.
Boil one cup of water.
Then add few basil leaves (about 2-3 table spoons) to the boiling water.
Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
After cooling, apply it on the face using cotton balls
Using orange peel:
Don’t throw away the peel after eating an orange. Its peel has got effective acne curing properties.
Make a fine paste of orange peel and water and apply it on the pimples. Remove it after sometime using warm water.
Using Aloe Vera juice:
Aloe Vera is known for its medicinal properties. It helps in treating several skin diseases.
Extract the juice from the fresh Aloe Vera leaves and apply it on the face and the effected areas.
Using bee propolis extract:
A mixture of bee propolis extract and water can effectively cure the acne.
Using lime juice and boiled milk:
A mixture of fresh lime juice and a glass of boiled milk can be used as a face wash to treat acne.
Using oatmeal or almond :
A mixture of oatmeal or almond with rose water can act as a good cleanser for the face. A good massage with this mixture can cure acne and black heads.
Grind almond or oat meal with water to make a fine paste.
Apply this paste on the face and leave it behind for about 15 minutes.
Then wash the face with cold water.
Using vinegar and salt :
A mixture of vinegar and salt when applied on the face for about 15-20 minutes can help in curing the pimples. A face towel or a cotton ball can be used to apply this mixture on the face.
Using cucumber:
Grind cucumber into a fine paste and apply it on the face. Rinse it off after 30 minutes. This also helps in refreshing your face.
