We always hear that grey hair is associated with wisdom. People having gray hair, implies that they have seen the ways of life & how the world works. But why does it happen?
One tip of the hair comprises of two parts, the external one being on top of the head, the other part being internal. The root which is surrounded by tissues under the skin is known as ‘hair follicle’. Each of such follicles contains coloring cells which give color to each strand of hair. Now as a person ages gradually, these coloring cells die, hence, the color of the growing hair becomes a more transparent color like grey, silver etc...

Genes are responsible for grey hair at an early age. There are secondary causes as well, like improper diet, stress to the mind & body. This can happen in today’s world where little attention is paid to a proper healthy diet regime. Hair should also be protected from direct sunlight.
