Going to a spa does not only mean getting a massage or your hair done. This could have been the case a few years back when the spa did not have much to offer. Now, instead of the usual massage treatment, there are a number of services that a spa will be able to provide to you. Aromatherapy Spa enhances the overall relaxing experience of a spa with the use of only natural products.

Aromatherapy is an alternative therapy method used to cure all kinds of ailments. The word “spa” is derived from two Latin words “salus per aquam” which means ‘health from water’. The philosophy behind the spa is that total well-being of the body can be attained by focusing on three key things - wellness, fitness both physical and mental, and relaxation. Spending some time at an aromatherapy spa is a wonderful opportunity to take a break from the hectic pace of life and rejuvenate yourself.

Aromatherapy spas are springing up everywhere. Aromatherapy spas are just like other spas that offer massages and other services, difference being that they use aromatic oils designed to further relax you.

A Variety of Amenities

Aromatherapy spas offer a wide selection of amenities and are not limited only to massages. Any service that you choose at an aromatherapy spa will use essential oils and the choice of oil will depend on your requirement and taste. For example, after you get your hair done, the person doing your hair might rub aromatic essential oils on your scalp which will give it strength and sheen. The choice of this oil will be determined by the texture of your hair and also your mental framework.

If your job and day to day life leaves you stressed and tired, then an aromatherapy spa is just the right place for you to visit. After one visit, you are likely to visit it again and again. The effects will show after a single session only. Your anger and stress would have melted away, thus, leaving you at peace. That is the power of an aromatherapy spa!

You Can Create your own Aromatherapy Spa at Home

After a grueling long session of hectic work schedule you would definitely look forward to ways to de-stress yourself. Here is an easy way to create an aromatherapy spa at home.

For whole body

To begin with, make sure your bathroom has a décor and feel that makes it look like a spa. If your bathroom has pastel colored walls than it is the ideal place for the spa experience. Pastel shades are relaxing. In case the walls are not pastel colored, then you can create the right ambience by choosing light or pleasing shower curtains for your bathroom spa.

The next thing would be to use a few aromatherapy candles that can help in creating the right ambience. Prepare your bath with some essential oils depending on your choice and what you are looking for from your spa experience. You can choose from lavender, chamomile, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, sage, rosewood and cedar wood. All these are oils that relax your body and calm your mind. If you want to feel refreshed, use lime, spearmint, lemon grass, or orange essential oils. Turn off the lights, light the candles, play some soothing music and soak into your bath.

For a quick relaxing spa

In case you are looking for a quick relaxation and do not have the time to indulge in a full body massage, try a simple foot soak for relaxation.

Fill a small tub that can accommodate your feet with warm water. Place a few marbles in it and add half cup of Epsom salts along with a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Dip your feet in the water and roll your feet over the marbles. This will give your tired feet an essential massage and you will feel rejuvenated. Scrub your feet to get rid of the dead cells and end with the application of a moisturizing cream.

You can use this time to give your face the necessary rejuvenation. Place cucumber slices on your eyes to soothe them while you soak. Apply a face pack made of one mashed ripe banana mixed with one teaspoon each of honey and curd. This is a great way to moisturize your face while you indulge in relaxing your feet.

Most people try to detoxify through diets and drinking plenty of water but a spa is the most natural way to detoxify and cleanse your entire system.
